Our Counselors in Training program (CIT) gives responsible young teens entering 9th and 10th grade the opportunity for a great summer camp experience. CITs assist counselors and specialists each day with a strong focus on developing leadership capabilities, communication skills, time management and patience. They also enjoy activities as a group, including field trips, theme day planning and leadership training programs. CIT’s leave the program more confident about working with others and have a better understanding of themselves and their own strengths and challenges. Upon completion of the program, all CITs are awarded with a certificate; as well as community service hours. Participation in the CIT program does not guarantee a counselor position in the future but will be considered based on unit head evaluations. CITs are required to register for a minimum of one 3 week session, and may add on additional weeks.
Before being accepted to the CIT program they are required to go through an interview process just as the counselors do. Once the parent registers the CIT, the camp office will be in touch to schedule an interview before registration is processed.
