Our Counselors in Training program (CIT) provides responsible young teens entering 9th and 10th grade an opportunity for a unique summer camp experience. CITs assist counselors and specialists each day with a strong focus on developing leadership capabilities, communication skills, time management and patience. They also enjoy activities with their peers, including field trips, swimming and leadership training programs. CITs will leave the program more confident about working with others and gain a better understanding of themselves and their own strengths and challenges. Upon completion of the program, all CITs are awarded a certificate; as well as community service hours.
CITs are required to register for a minimum of one 3 week session, and may add on additional weeks. Participation in the CIT program does not guarantee a counselor position in the future but will be considered based on unit head evaluations.
Before being accepted to the CIT program the student is required to go through an interview process just as the counselors do. Click here for the application and references. Once the application and references are received by the Camp Office, the CIT Director will contact you to set up an interview. Click here to the join the staff.
