Yeladim
Camp Preschool

Young children thrive on a consistent schedule with structure and routines, but each day Yeladim is full of surprises!

Yeladim offers children a unique and fun-filled summer experience in a safe, loving and engaging Jewish environment.

Campers will be divided into groups according to their age.  We maintain a low student-teacher ratio.

Highly qualified staff will be with your children throughout the summer.  Staff members are First Aid and CPR certified.

The staff partners with your children and your family to ensure your child spends an unforgettable summer while continuing to blossom.

Yeladim provides:
Flexible summer camping options:  M-F and M-W-F options along with FT and PT hours.  All four year olds are required to register for FT hours and days.

Instructional Swim facilitated by Quality Swimming.

Several special activities each week; be prepared for everything from Wacky Water Day to Carnival, to Dress up days, theme days, Maccabi Games, Interactive shows and Shabbat

A Typical Day 9:00 am - 1:00 pm *

Boker Tov
Campers begin the day in a community. Being part of a large community is an experience of its own. Campers build their identity as a group at the same time they interact with other children and learn with and from them. Boker Tov sets the camp tone for the rest of the day. Favorite camp songs along with good morning rituals make Boker Tov one of the children’s favorite parts of the day.

Bunk Time
Each group has a home room, set up with developmentally appropriate centers that engage the children in a variety of ways. Dramatic play, blocks and construction, library, table toys (also known as manipulatives), light table, sensory center and art are among the many choices children have to explore and learn. During Bunk Time children have opportunities to experience whole group activities, small group projects and, in some cases, one-on-one time with the counselors.

Specialty Period 1

Each day a different specialty will be waiting for the children. Specialties can include instructional swim, science, music, art, sports, cooking, Israeli culture and pottery.

Instructional Swim / Water Play
From instructional swimming to water races and from sprinklers to water tables, the children have the opportunity to refresh with some water fun.

Lunch
Beginning with a prayer of thanks, campers enjoy eating their home packed lunch with their friends and counselors.

L’Hitraot (So long…)

We end the day with a ritual L’Hitraot (so long) and leave energized and with much enthusiasm that children can’t wait until the next day to come back and start all over again.

* Yeladim 9 am – 1 pm for 2 and 3 year olds only (ages by Sept. 1, 2015) The first 2 weeks of camp for 2 year olds (Age by Sept 1) must be consecutive.

Menucha (Rest time)

Young children need to rest their bodies and their minds. Mats, lights lowered and peaceful music is the perfect recipe for quiet time or a nap. An alternative activity will be available for those children who don't nap.

Specialty Periods 2 & 3

More opportunity for fun includes science, music, art, sports, cooking, Israeli culture and pottery.

L’Hitraot (So long…)

We end the day as a community and leave energized and with much enthusiasm that children can’t wait until the next day to come back and start all over again.

Yeladim Sports Camp

Campers experience a more sports focused program, In addition they will also participate in art, music, science, cooking etc. The children in sports camp will have basketball, sports’ skills development, endurance and cardiovascular development or track and field.

The Sports Camp’s program will be based on the principles of CATCH Early Childhood Physical education. The purpose of the Coordinated Approach to Child’s Health (CATCH) Early Childhood program is to provide children with a variety of robust physical activity experiences which nurture their love of movement.

CATCH Early Childhood PE activity achieves its vision by:
• Offering a wide variety of movement experiences and opportunities
• Providing children a safe place to be themselves and develop skills at their own pace
• Promoting physical development by giving children opportunities to practice and refine their motor skills
• Developing fitness by engaging children in moderate-to-vigorous physical activity
As part of CATCH, our activities are non-threatening, encourage participation, and are, most importantly, FUN! Competition is considered developmentally inappropriate for preschoolers, as they have not yet achieved the cognitive, social, and emotional development necessary to understand or handle competition. Therefore we do not play elimination games and all children are always engaged!

Children enrolled in Sports Camp will still be part of the Boker Tov and will have, as all the other campers, Bunk Time. Each group will be led by an early childhood educator who understands children and development as much as sports.
