ENHANCED FOCUS ON HEALTH & SAFETY

Our team's first priority every summer is the health and safety of our campers and staff. Summer 2021 is no different (policies may change with local guidelines):

• Requiring masks for campers and staff unless outside and socially distant
• Temperature checks for campers and staff upon arrival
• Small groups and no intermingling of groups
• Ongoing sanitizing throughout the day of door handles and high-touch areas

Counselors and staff are required to pass a Level II background screening. All exterior doors are locked and cannot be opened without an access pass. In addition, our security guards are on duty at all times throughout the campus.

THAT FAMILY FEELING

It’s that feeling you get when you enter the JCC and are greeted by name. It’s that feeling when you culminate the week by singing Shabbat songs with your friends. It’s that feeling of a close-knit JCC community where life-long friendships are created, summer memories are made, and friends, counselors, and staff become like family.

REGISTERED CAMP NURSE

Camp Shalom is thrilled to have a full-time registered nurse on staff every summer. Our camp nurse administers medications, helps with boo-boos and gives an extra dose of TLC when needed.

FIRST-RATE COMMUNICATION

Every week campers come home with personalized letters from their counselors highlighting each camper’s favorite activities. Almost every day we send out emails that serve as reminders about what’s going on that parents need to know about. Unit heads have email addresses to provide more direct contact and communication. A photographer takes pictures at all the activities and you’ll get access to those pictures to share with family and friends.

 

LOW STAFF TO CHILD RATIOS

Camp Shalom maintains a low staff to child ratio which allows counselors to form relationships with their campers and better supervise the daily activities.

SWIMMING

Campers in K-8th grade will have free swim each day. Yeladim, our preschool camp, has instructional swim three times a week. Lifeguards are always on duty throughout the camp day.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE

The camp day begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm but we understand that those hours don’t work for everyone so we open our doors as early at 8:00 am and close our doors as late as 6:00 pm to accommodate working schedules.

LUNCH

Hate packing lunch? No problem! Camp Shalom offers an optional catered lunch by Chef Corp. Buy lunch for your camper as little as one day a week or for the entire week!

All lunches include a fresh fruit or vegetable and a side dish, dessert and a bottle of water. Lunches are nut-free, but are produced in a facility that uses nuts, soy and dairy in recipes. Gluten free available.

Monday: Pasta
Tuesday: Pizza
Wednesday: Chicken Tenders
Thursday: Grilled Cheese
Friday: Pizza

All lunches are served with a snack and a fruit or veggies. Campers should bring their own water or other drink. Click here to order >>
