CIT Program (Grades 9-10)

Our Counselors in Training program (CIT) provides responsible young teens entering 9th and 10th grade an opportunity for a unique summer camp experience; CITs are a unique cohort; no longer campers, but not yet staff. The CIT program will provide entering 9th and 10th graders valuable skills and experience and enhance future job prospects. CIT’s will develop valuable leadership skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving, learn how to be effective role models, gain insight into youth and adolescent development and build a repertoire of games, activities, language and techniques that will enhance their ability to create a safe, positive and fun environment for themselves and others. Upon completion of the program the CITs will be awarded 35 hours of community service a week.

CITs are required to register for a minimum of 2 weeks. Participation in the CIT program does not guarantee a counselor position in the future but will be considered based on unit head evaluations.
