Summer Shlichim
We are proud to welcome shlichim (Israeli counselors)
to be part of Camp Shalom this summer. Shlichim (Hebrew for emissary),
pass a rigorous screening process, receive extra training,
and arrive prepared to lead daily and specialized activities.
If you would like to host one of our shlichim for one or more
weeks during the summer, please contact the Camp Office.
This is a unique opportunity to have your family learn more
about other cultures.
TAG
We’re at camp but we are still learning! Each camper
has the privilege to participate in TAG initiatives created
by the JCCA Mandel Center for Jewish Education. TAG is an
acronym for Torah (learning and living), Avodah (service
and spirituality) and Gemilut Chassadim (acts of loving
kindness), three encompassing values of Judaism taken from
Pirkei Avot (Ethics of Our Fathers) that provide a firm
foundation for the formation of one's Jewish identity and
humanity. TAG initiatives add Jewish richness, beauty, quality
and meaning to our camps through Jewish experiences and
education. |
