Teen Travel Program - For campers entering 7th-10th grades

Make your summer an unforgettable one by hitting the road with Camp Shalom! Our redesigned Teen Travel program promises that every day will be action packed as we offer campers a unique combination of both day and extended overnight trips. Sessions 1 and 4 will be filled with jaw dropping local excursions that will have the kids traveling as far as Miami and Stuart. Our day trips will feature and exciting mix of social action and trips planned specifically with teens in mind. Sessions 2 and 3 will begin with a 5 day 4 night extended trip at a Dude Ranch and the Florida Keys. The second week of the session will include a wide variety of spectacular field trips.

Campers in the Teen Travel program use the Ross JCC and Duncan Middle School as a home base. Campers from both locations will travel together.

Session 1: June 11-22: 10 Days, 10 trips, 10 times the fun!!

Session 2: June 25-29: Westgate River Ranch (5 days/4 nights) / July 2-July 6: Local day excursions

Session 3: July 9-13: Monday thru Friday in the Florida Keys / July 16-20: Local day excursions

Session 4: July 23-August 3: Field trips everyday!!

Counselor in Training (CIT) For those campers entering 9th or 10th grade Our CIT program is a truly maturing experience, offering teens hands-on experiences working with children, building self-confidence, and preparing them for future responsibilities. CIT’s are exposed to leadership training, self-esteem building, mentoring, planning, goal setting, and working as part of a team. Not only will CITs learn to create a safe environment for our campers, they’ll be in the middle of the action having just as much fun. In fact, CITs have their own activities, field trips and a two-day/one-night camping retreat. They also receive continuous guidance through weekly mentoring/evaluation sessions. Priority hiring for Camp Shalom counselors is given to those who have successfully completed our CIT program.
