The Mandel JCC is looking for energetic people who love working with kids to work as camp counselors, special needs camp counselors, unit heads and specialists!

The Mandel JCC hires the highest quality of experienced staff members — from junior counselors to unit heads. Many Camp Shalom staff return for multiple seasons, and all staff are selected through an interview process which examines education, professional training, prior camp experience and the ability to work with children. All staff must be at least 16 years of age prior to the first day of camp and must be available to work all weeks of camp.

All camp staff participate in staff training. Training includes learning to work with children in groups, sensitivity training, behavior management, medical training and special programming/skills workshops. Staff development dates will be given to you when you interview.
