Giborim (6th-8th grade)*

Giborim is Camp Shalom’s newest unit designed with middle schoolers in mind.  Campers will enjoy a combination of day camp and travel camp as they have fun in and around Florida.  Day camp weeks include 3 local field trips and 2 days at camp.  Away trip weeks include 2 days at Camp Shalom and a 2 night 3 day destination adventure staying in local hotels to allow campers to be well rested for the next day.

LIT/CIT Program (9th and 10th grade)

Campers Entering 9th & 10th Grade

The Leaders in Training/ Counselors in Training program at Camp Shalom provides our oldest campers with an opportunity for a great summer experience. The program offers a variety of opportunities for valuable learning experiences aimed at the personal growth of each individual as well as the growth of our camp community as a whole, all while having fun! LIT’s and CIT’s will be certified in First-aid, and CPR through The American Red Cross, and are eligible to receive community service hours. This program includes two field trips just for our wonderful LITs and CITs.
LIT’s (entering 9th grade) will work with specialists to learn how to implement and lead creative programming for our campers. LIT’s will have the opportunity to choose a daily camp activity.

CIT’s (entering 10th grade) The Counselor In Training Program (CIT) is for those ready for a new challenge of hands-on leadership.  CITs will work directly in camp groups with counselors, learning the in’s and out’s of being a counselor, all while having a fun experience. CITs will have the opportunity to choose a weekly camp activity.
