K-6th Grade Camp

At Camp Shalom, we strive to provide an environment that fosters peer relationships, while still considering the needs of the individual camper. Our K–6th grade program allows campers to participate in a camp schedule that offers a mixture of traditional camp programming and individualized activity choices. All campers are given a choice of a weekly chugim (electives) which allows them to custom-design their schedules for personal preferences. Each week of camp, features a fun filled special event day like Water works/ Foam works, Carnivals, Shows and more.

Campers entering Kindergarten
An exciting time has come for these children as they begin kindergarten in the fall.  It is also means their first year in Upper Camp has arrived. We help prepare these campers for kindergarten all summer long, focusing on friendship and fun and providing opportunities that parallel what they will experience in school. We encourage their independence and growth in a nurturing, warm environment!

Nitzan campers enjoy all of the great on-campus Upper Camp activities including, special entertainment weekly (we bring the entertainment to them), daily instructional swim and developmentally appropriate activities all while making friends

Campers entering 1st grade
Going into first grade is a big step at camp. Campers can customize part of their schedules with Chugim (electives) and head off campus for trips every other week! Trips are done to local venues such as bowling, fun center and the water park.

Another exciting addition for these campers is the fantastic Camp Shalom late nights. Twice during the summer campers stay late at camp and enjoy sports, arts and crafts, extra swim time, dinner and additional camp fun!

Campers entering 2nd & 3rd grade
Our on campus fun is complimented by once a week exciting field trips. Lion Country Safari, the Wow Factory, and the Water Park are just a few of the field trips that our Kesher campers enjoy during the summer.  In addition campers customize part of their schedules with Chugim (electives) allowing them to focus on what interests them.

Campers look forward to one late night at the JCC extending our camp day fun well into the evening.  They also enjoy an overnight at the JCC, creating one big sleepover PJ party!

Campers entering 4th-6th grade
Kochavim is the perfect bridge from traditional camp program to an introductory travel camp experience. Campers spend 3 days a week onsite at our day camp and 2 days a week on incredible day trips like Funky Fish at the beach, catching a baseball game at the Miami Marlins Park or bouncing around at Off the Wall (just to name a few).  Kochavim gives campers the opportunity to design their own camp experience through chugim (electives) weekly.

Campers will have one sleepover at the JCC before embarking on 2 day one night travel adventure to theme parks in Orlando.

*Entering 6th graders have the choice to participate in Kochavim or Giborim. Click here for more information on the Giborim unit.
